#tanahairku

For the second entry of my blog, I am going to talk about a field trip to KLCC on this Wednesday. We went to a gallery with the title of #tanahairku.

1. Why the exhibition titled as #tanahairku ? I think that maybe they just want we proud to be a Malaysian and lets the foreigners know Malaysia more?  When I first saw this, I thought that was Tamil and seek for someone to help me. LOL
The world is changing but we Malaysians will always be proud of who we are

From my point of view, I think that the gallery fulfilled with the title #tanahairku very well. As a Malaysian, we can clearly feel the same at there and lots of the item displayed there brought back our childhood memories. Commercials of Petronas always amaze people with their theme that can touch people's heart. The commercials also bring out the special of Malaysia and we enjoy watching it. The most impressive commercial was a Chinese kid with a Malay girls as his girlfriend. They are so cute and all the things they said are just truly from their heart. Even this commercial was long time ago, but I still remember it.

4. This is the photo of the past that evoke the sense of nostalgia. I used to shower at this kind of places.

This scene still exist in my grandmother's house. Even she was old but her house still remain as before. When I was young, my parents were busy and my grandmother will look after me. When I shower at this "little well" and the bottle of shampoo always dropped into water. Ended up most of the time of shower, I was picking up the bottle. When I first see this scene at the exhibition, I miss my grandmother so much as she treats me very well. Besides of this photos, there are some scenes such as a cupboard to put dishes. I remembered that my grandmother always show "magic" there as when I went to her house, she will take some candies from the cupboard and give it to me. Seriously, I miss her very much. T_T

Maybe some of my thought is not relevant to the title but I think that the exhibition was quite fun and interesting as you can do lots of activities there. You can play Congkak ( I even don't want to left there), you can watch all the Petronas commercials from past until now. Feel free to visit there because it is FREE.

Time Capsule

This post is about what will I contribute only ONE item to a time capsule which will open in Year 2120. Hi Year 2120. Basically I am dead or 125 years old during that time but

For me, I will choose a bracelet made by coconut shell. I think this can be a representative item for the people born in generation Y,especially Chinese. It is a black bracelet and carved with words "出入平安"(Chūrù píng'ān) which meant have a safe journey. The longer you wear it, it will cover with a shiny brown colour instead of just a dead black colour. People believed it can give a good fortune and break all the bad lucks.

When I was born, my parents bought me one and it broke when I was 5 years old. The bracelet is fixed size but my hand was not. LOL. Therefore, my parents used a hammer to break it and bought me a new one. Until 2016, this is third coconut shell bracelet I have in my life. The newest one have followed me since I was 12 years old.

I also believe this bracelet can bring me good luck. Few months ago, I was waiting for bus going back to hometown. I accidentally dropped it on the floor and I almost lost it. Luckily, I picked it up and continue with my journey going back to hometown. On the way, I almost involve in a tragic car accident because of the over speed of the bus driver. Pheww.. but I am still here and typing this interesting blog. This bracelet become a kind of mental support to me. I am a kampung girl, my childhood was amazing, Fell down from bicycle until my forehead was bleeding, fire burns and I have to cut all my scorch hair but I AM STILL HERE. I don't know why but I believe this bracelet have some kind of mystery force that protect me all the way.

The reason why I want to contribute this bracelet is I don't want this kind of culture to be disappeared after 100 years. Lots of people want to make this in large amount so they choose to use machine instead of carve themselves or use plastic rather than coconut shell. I hope this kind of craftsmanship still exist after 100 years later and may the mystery force be with you.
My coconut shell bracelet.
